Cruise For a Cure
Coming up on July 11th!
Starts at 9:30am!
Every year Sandpoint has it’s annual, Classic Boat Festival, this year they are adding something special… US!
This year’s theme is, “Cruise for a Cure.”
The board of the Festival has asked us to be a part of this day and we are THRILLED!
“This year’s show will be a tribute to all of our cancer survivors with the theme of Cruise For a Cure. The setting for the show is absolutely perfect, with classic boats tied up along the boardwalk running along Sand Creek right in downtown Sandpoint, and the quaint atmosphere of this small city-on-the-lake. You can stroll through the boats and then venture up to the excellent eclectic shops in downtown Sandpoint. There is a Farmers Market that is a very short walk from the show, many fine restaurants and an always-busy calendar of events to complement the show.”

Anyone and everyone is welcome to come see these beautiful boats… and don’t forget to check out our table!!
We are getting geared up for this fun race!
Only eleven days until we all get to run together to support people in need!
Here are the basics!
“Jacey’s Race is a community event specifically to help local families with
children currently being treated for cancer, life-threatening or severe illness. Jacey’s
Race is a timed 5K running race for persons of all ages, with prizes for the top three
competitors of various age groups. There will also be a 1K walk/ fun run for
children and parents that will not be timed. At the end of the race there will be tents
set up with food and water, and free massages for racers. We plan on having a
jumping castle, clowns giving out balloons, face painting, and door prizes. Jacey’s
Race is free for children 12 and under! The race is staffed entirely by non paid
volunteers. Via sponsorship and race entry fees, money will be raised to go
primarily to families of children with cancer, severe or life-threatening illness, with
gifts to Community Cancer Services and the Pediatric Department at Bonner General
Hospital in Sandpoint.”

It is SO important that we are proactive in cancer prevention!
We can make a difference in the rising statistics!
Here are some easy tips to keep in mind this summer:
The first signs of skin cancer (including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma) usually comes with changes in your skin.
Whether it is a mole changing it’s shape, a growth, or spot… it is SO important that you get checked by a doctor to make sure the area is not cancerous.
